Meet Chief Dan Marshall
Dan Marshall became Fairfield’s Chief of Police on November 7, 2022.
Chief Marshall began his law enforcement career in 1998 as a Reserve Police Officer and Animal Control Officer in the City of Benicia. In November of 1999, he was hired by the Fairfield Police Department, where he has since had an incredible career, working in various assignments including Crime Prevention, Youth Services and Narcotics.
He has overseen the Peer Support Program, Homeless Intervention Team, and Crisis Intervention Team, and worked with Solano County Health and Social Services to implement the Mobile Crisis program and bring Crisis Intervention Training to Solano County.
Dan was promoted to Lieutenant in 2016. In 2021, he was promoted to captain and managed the Operations Bureau, which includes, Patrol, Investigations, Youth Services, Homeless Intervention Team, PAL, and the Traffic Unit.
Dan is a recognized leader throughout the community and works with various local organizations to actively bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community. Serving people is his passion and he focuses on changing our young people’s lives.
